Videocon launches VT75C Tablet Based On Android Jelly Bean At Rs 6000
This 7-inch tablet will have a tough job on its hands to stand out from the crowd in this over-populated segment.
Videocon has launched a new tablet called VT75C that sports a 7-inch display and runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is now available across online retailers for a price of Rs 6000. This tablet continues the company's legacy of low-cost tablets, and also joins the likes of its predecessors VT-10 and VT-71.
Videocon's latest tablet is another addition to the bustling Tablet PC segment in India that was dominated by the likes of Samsung, Micromax and Karbonn, in the 4th quarter of 2012. A Cybermedia Research report states that Android was the leading platform followed by iOS and to a certain extent Windows. According to the report, 47 tablet vendors resorted to shipping tablets in India in the fourth quarter of last year, and India accounted for 1.09 million units being shipped during this time period. With such a packed segment, Videocon's latest offering will have a tough job on its hands to stand out from the crowd.
Here's a quick look at the Videocon VT75C's key tech-specs:
- 7-inch display with 800x480 pixel dimensions
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform
- 1GHz processor
- 2MP rear and a front VGA camera
- 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory
- Internal Memory expansion supported up to 32GB through microSD card
- Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and 3G via dongle connectivity supported
- Google Play store access enabled
Videocon, a well-known television manufacturer in India should have looked to reinvent itself in the tablet segment instead of overpopulating the already crowded market with an average product.
