Based on BBCHindi.com, the app offers latest news and streaming videos on Android devices.
BBC World Service has unveiled is new Hindi app for the Android platform. Targeted for Hindi speaking users, the app offers a clean interface that divides stories under sections such as Latest News, India, International, Entertainment, Sport, Science and Multimedia. The app is fluid and gives you the option of toggling around with font sizes, sharing stories via Facebook or Twitter, or tweaking the way the app lists stories.
For streaming videos, it requires a player that can decode the H.264 Main Profile codec. I tested the app using MX Player and the videos worked fine. The only downer is that some of the clips only relay audio, while the screen remains blank.
