Google's Play Store Turns One, Offers Freebies To Woo Fandroids
However, not all offers are available to Android users in India.
It's been a year since Google rebranded its Android Market as Google Play, and clubbed its services including Google Music, Google Movies, and the Google eBookstore all into a single virtual repository. While the app repository is brimming with apps (over 700,000, says Google), other services are yet to take off for Indian users.
That being said, Google did manage to get the Play Books store up and running with 4 million titles. However, since it isn't as "competitively priced" as other vendors in the market, it hasn't been able to make the impact it had hoped for.
As we wait for music and video services to commence in India, Google has taken time off to celebrate the store's first birthday with some freebies. The promo page does list out a handful of items that you can pick from. To know all that you can stand to gain, check out the video listed on the page as well.
