After launching the touch-friendly version of Internet Explorer (IE) 10 with the Windows 8 platform, Microsoft has now made available the same browser version for the Windows 7 OS as well. It is available worldwide for download in 95 languages, click here for a list of features.

Microsoft claims that IE10 offers 20% increase in real-world site rendering performance as compared with IE9, and 60% improved support for newer web standards such as HTML5.

As the screenshot below shows, IE10 looks very much like IE9, except for the above performance and compatibility improvements. Similar to IE9, IE10 also tries to render websites in a newer way - so if you were using IE8 previously, online banking and corporate intranet websites may behave unpredictably. Note that IE10 won't install unless you have Windows 7 updated - it requires at least Service Pack 1 to be present.
