MWC 2013: Lenovo Launches New Android Tablets Running Jelly Bean OS
The Lenovo A1000, A3000 and S6000, all run on the Android Jellybean platform.
Lenovo, after its IdeaPad Y500 and IdeaPad Z500 notebooks, seems to continue on its product launch spree, by launching the Lenovo A1000, Lenovo A3000 and Lenovo S6000 tablet computers, at the Mobile World Congress 2103 (MWC 2013). The Lenovo A1000 and A3000 have 7-inch screens whereas Lenovo S6000 has a 10.1 inch display.
These tablets are claimed to be at the same level as other biggies like Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and Huawei Ascend P2 (all launched at MWC 2013).
The tech specs of the individual tablets, as given by its manufacturer are:
Lenovo A1000:
- 7-inch screen
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system
- 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor
- 16 GB on-board storage
- expandable up to 32GB with micro-SD card
- Dolby Digital audio
Lenovo A3000:
- 7-inch IPS screen
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system
- 1.2 Ghz quad core processor
- 16GB and 32GB onboard storage variants
- expandable up to 64GB with micro SD card
- Dolby Digital audio
Lenovo S6000:
- 10.1 inch display
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS
- 1.2 Ghz quad core processor
- micro HDMI port, Wi-Fi, optional HSPA connectivity
- claimed battery backup of 8hrs
The quad-core processors are good, though price tag of these tablets are unknown. Lenovo claims that these devices will be available from the second quarter of this year.
Lenovo is going gung-ho about the three devices. "With these latest additions to our tablet portfolio, we've created devices that address these customers' needs, as well as devices for more demanding gamers and multimedia users," said Chen Wenhui, vice president Lenovo and GM Mobile BU.
