Samsung's "GALAXY" Brand Recognition Surpasses That Of "Android"
With this trend being detected via Google's own search results, is it time for Google to get worried?
Looks like Google could face some recognition problems for its "Android" brand in the near future. The problem arises with Samsung's "GALAXY" brand which for the first time has surpassed Android in number searches. The findings which were made by a strategy analyst, shows a Google trends graph (embedded below) which compares searches among the terms "iphone", "galaxy", "android", "samsung" and "samsung galaxy".
Obviously, iPhone is at the top of searches. However, searches for GALAXY overtook Android recently for a brief period. Historically, both the search terms have seen steady growth. This should certainly be a cause for worry at Google, as people might not purchase the phone for its software, but for the hardware, which Samsung has mostly excelled at.
