Intel's Focus On Dual Core Smartphones At MWC 2013
The company will also target emerging markets with its low-end processors.

Intel, which recently made its debut in the smartphone manufacturing segment with the Lava Xolo X900, will reportedly concentrate on unveiling more number of its dual core smartphones, starting from the Mobile World Congress 2013 (MWC), which will be held this month at Barcelona.
Intel states in a release that it will also focus on "emerging" markets with smartphones tailored exclusively for them. The MWC 2013 is also set to witness this. Emerging markets are expected to see various low-end Intel smartphones that run the company's Lexington Atom Z2420 CPU. Intel planning on launching smartphones exclusively for emerging markets might be good for competing with smartphones that run on ARM-based chips.
"Specifically, Intel will showcase its latest smartphone technologies and devices running the Android platform, including a new dual core, dual graphics platform, as well as OEM- and service provider-supported devices based on the company's new Intel Atom Z2420 platform targeted at emerging markets", stated a company press release.
The Lenovo K900, which was launched at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013, runs on the Intel Atom dual-core Z2580 processor - a feature highlighted by the smartphone.
Intel holds the distinction of incorporating its processor in the Yolo, which is Africa's first Intel Inside smartphone. This device was launched in Kenya on 24th January this year by African Wireless Solution Provider Safaricom.
