Apple iPhone 4S Up For Pre-Order From Nov 18

Aircel will be putting up the Apple iPhone 4S up for pre-order from November 18th onwards.

 

The iPhone 4S was recently announced to be hitting India on the two major Indian carriers, Airtel and Aircel. While the former first made the arrival of the handset official on its Facebook page, the latter soon followed suit. The fancied new iDevice will hit the carrier November 25th onwards. That said, users can now get the device early by pre-ordering the same on November 18th, which is two days away from now. There is no info on the pricing of the device yet from either of the carriers, but we can expect prices to go north of Rs 40,000. Though there has been some info about the prices from alleged retailers, we can't confirm anything until we hear a word or two from either of the carriers.

To be frank, none of us expected the handset to make way to the Indian shores this early, considering the fact that its predecessor was almost a year late to the party. Either way, it's good news that we finally have the handset coming our way, though pricing will be a major factor as we have always been mentioning. With the unlocked (global) version of the iPhone 4S out in the U.S, users can also opt to purchase the handset from online retailers. However, it is recommended to wait till the hype cools off since the prices now have gone over the roof. To refresh your memory a little, the iPhone 4S features a 3.5" Retina Display (960x640 pixels), an 8 MP camera, 1 GHz dual core Apple A5 chipset, and the new voice guiding sensation Siri. People have been very skeptical on the functioning of Siri in the Indian environment, but we're sure it shouldn't be hard for it to adjust to the local accent and commands.

With Airtel shedding little light on the launch of the device on its network, we think that it will launch the handset along with Aircel i.e. on November 25th. Sources suggest that the 16 GB version of the iPhone 4S could be priced at Rs 40,000 and the 64GB variant could go all the way up to 50,000. More will be revealed this Friday, so stay tuned.
