No Siri For The iPhone 4: Apple

An Apple engineer has confirmed that the company has no plans of rolling out Siri to other iDevices as of now.

Since the past couple of months, there have been reports that Apple might be considering porting the friendly guide Siri, which was introduced with the iPhone 4S, to the iPhone 4 as well. There was some evidence pointing towards a possible roll out, but now Apple has put a full stop to all the rumours once and for all. The info came from an Apple engineer responding to a developer's question regarding the rollout of Siri to iPhone 4 handsets. The reply said, "Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices".

That pretty much seals every possibility of Apple porting Siri to other existing iDevices. It seems that Apple wants to maintain the exclusivity factor with the iPhone 4S, hence the denial to provide with the handy service to other devices as well.

It is, however, a known fact that hackers have been able to port Siri onto the iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch and even the iPad. Nevertheless, these talented developers can't legally distribute the hack online without falling under Apple's strict legal umbrella. It is therefore confirmed: no Siri for devices other than the iPhone 4S. This policy has really angered iPhone 4 users all over. We could see Apple roll out Siri for future iDevices though. The first thing that comes to mind is the iPad 3. So let's wait until then to see what Apple comes up with.
