Rumoured to be the first dual-core Android from Sony Ericsson.
Android-based smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC, and LG have already established their range of dual-core droids. The only one left behind thus far was Sony Ericsson (SE). That may not be the case any more, since the manufacturer reportedly now has its own dual-core handset, dubbed the Xperia Arc HD. Thankfully, we have some pictures to treat you with, showing off what SE has done looks-wise. These images come courtesy of an Israeli Android blog, which seems to have pulled a Mossad on SE. The leak reveals a typical Arc-esque design, ensconcing an array of cool features. You may recognise the phone as the Nozomi from previous leaks.
The phone appears to be fitted with a 4.3" display that's HD-capable — something rather obvious from its name. Moreover, the Arc HD is rumoured to feature a 12 mp Sony Exmor R camera sensor. This will make it one of the very few 12 mp camera phones in the market. The leak also points to a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 32 GB of built-in storage, and 1 GB of RAM. Looking at the unconfirmed specs sheet, the phone seems too good to be true. However, considering the geometric progression of smartphone development, nothing is truly implausible in this segment.
It is believed that the phone will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2012 and will eventually hit markets in March. One report also suggests that the handset will run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box. As with all leaks, I recommend you take this with a pinch of salt.
