Android 4.0 ZenFocus myZenTAB 708B With 7" Screen Available On SnapDeal.com For Rs 6000
ICS-based tablet has a 0.3 mp front camera and a 1 GHz CPU; low RAM and internal storage are big question marks.
ZenFocus has launched its myZenTAB 708B tablet, based on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It runs on a single-core CPU with the clock ranging from 1 to 1.2 GHz, and features a Mali-400 GPU. Unfortunately, there's just 512 MB of RAM, which is barely enough to run the OS smoothly.
The 7" 5-point capacitive multi-touch screen has pixel dimensions of 800x400. The 4 GB of internal storage can be increased by up to 32 GB via the microSD slot. For internet connectivity, the slate supports Wi-Fi with hotspot, in addition to 3G dongles. A 0.3 mp front camera facilitates video chat. Here's the spec sheet:
- Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), Google Play and Adobe Flash 11.1 support.
- Apps and games included: Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Plants Vs Zombies, Dictionary.
- 7", 5-point capacitive multi-touch screen with pixel dimensions of 800x400.
- Boxchip A13 1-1.2 GHz CPU, Mali-400 @350 MHz GPU, 512 MB of DDR3 RAM.
- 4 GB internal storage; 32 GB microSD slot.
- 0.3 megapixel front camera.
- Supports 3G dongle (EVDO/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA), Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 with OTG, No HDMI-Out.
- Video Formats: H.264, H. 263, VC- 1, MPEG- 1,2,4 DIVX- 3,4,5,6, XVID, H263, WMV7 / 8, VP6, AVS.
- Audio Formats: MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, APE, AAC, AC3, DTS.
- 2350 mAh Li-polymer battery with 3.5 hours of Wi-Fi browsing and 4.5 hours of video playback.
- 7.6" (l) x 4.8" (w) x 0.33" (8.5 mm) (d).
USB OTG allows you to connect peripheral devices — keyboard, mouse, USB storage, and 3G dongle. Adobe Flash 11.1 support makes for easy viewing of online streaming videos.
The paltry 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage tip the balance against this tablet, not to mention the lack of HDMI-Out. Available in a black plastic casing, the myZenTAB 708B has an MRP of Rs 7000, but it is available from Snapdeal.com at a festival promotional price of Rs 6000.
At this price, there's no clear competitor to this tablet. But if you're willing to spend just a thousand rupees more, you can get the WickedLeak Wammy Desire. It's much better value for money, with a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU, HDMI-Out, and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
