Wonder TWY100 Tablet With Android 4.0 and 7" Screen Launched By Winknet For Rs 8000
Features front camera, 3G dongle support, and Full HD (1080p) output; claims to be the lightest in its category.

Winknet has launched the Wonder TWY100 tablet, which the press release claims is the lightest 7" tablet, weighing just 365 grammes. (That claim isn't true, because the Google Nexus 7 weighs 340 grammes.) The Wonder TWY100 runs Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and is powered by a 1.5 GHz CPU with 3D accelerator and 512 MB RAM. The slate features a 5-point capacitive multi-touch TFT LCD with WVGA pixel dimensions of 800x480. Its internal storage of 8 GB can be expanded by up to 32 GB using the microSD card slot. Wi-Fi connectivity is featured, in addition to support for 3G dongles via USB.
The TWY100 supports 2160p HD (3840x2160) – higher than Full HD (1080p) – like many other Android devices do, and an HDMI-Out port allows you to take the action to a larger screen. A 3000 mAh battery is provided for a claimed 8 hours of music playback or 4 hours of browsing, which is, in my opinion, a little too far-fetched. Here are the complete specifications:
- Android 4.0.3 (ICS) with support for Google Play.
- 7" 5-point capacitive multi-touch TFT LCD panel with pixel dimensions of 800x480.
- 1.5 GHz Cortex A8 CPU, Dual-core Mali-400 GPU, 512 MB DDR3 RAM.
- 8 GB internal storage, 32 GB microSD card slot.
- Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 with support for 3G dongles, USB 2.0 OTG, Bluetooth not supported.
- 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
- HDMI-Out supporting 2160p HD output, 3.5 mm stereo jack, G-Sensor.
- Supported video formats: AVI, RM, RMVB, PMP, FLV, Mp4, M4V, VOB, WMV, 3GP, MKV, MOV, MPEG, MPG.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A, MP2, MA4.
- 3000 mAh Li-ion battery supporting 8 hours music or 4 hours browsing.
- 7.6" (l) x 4.7" (w) x 0.4" (9.9 mm) (d), 365 grammes.
- Package contents: Power adapter, earphones, USB cable, OTG cable, user guide, warranty card.
USB OTG support means you can connect USB accessories such as a keyboard, mouse, and mass storage devices, just like you would with a PC. Adobe Flash support lets you play most streaming online video content. The tab comes bundled with the Hungama app and also a free Hindi movie, 10 HD music videos, and 20 audio songs.
The Winknet Wonder TWY100 is available for Rs 8000. Check out our tablet buying guide if you are looking for something cheaper.
