First a look at the specs of the tablet: 1. Android 4.0.3 (ICS) with support for Google Play. => Android 4.1 is the minimum expected from a tablet that costs Rs.15000. => On needs to really check how many apps from Google play are really compatible with the device. Anyway, we can always get the APK and install them directly on the device. 2. 9.7" 10-point capacitive multi-touch IPS panel with pixel dimensions of 1024x768. => This definitely is a nice aspect of the tablet. It provides better screen for reading and browsing. However, a slightly higher resolution would be expected from a 9.7" tablet. 3. 1.5 GHz Cortex A8 CPU, Dual-core Mali-400 GPU, 1 GB DDR3 RAM. => This is the BIGGEST negative of this tablet. I assume, it is a Allwinner A10 single core processor. While the market is heading towards dualcore and quad core tablets, putting a tablet with a single core processor is a not going satisfying. Secondly, if the processor is Allwinner A10, it will not give more than 1GHz speed without getting over heated (http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/25116-1ghz-12ghz-15ghz-which-is-it/page__view__findpost__p__268602). Theoritically, 1.5GHz is possible, but in reality, it will work at 1GHz only. => Dual core Mali-400 GPU and 1GB RAM are good stuff. But, again, tablets with quad-core GPU are available at similar price and lot more features (Pipo Max-M1: http://ipadalternative.com/high-end-tablet-pcs/122-pipo-m1-tablet-pc-rk3066-dual-core-97-inch-bluetooth-android-41-jelly-bean-16gb-1g-ram-dual-camera-white.html - it offers lot better features) 4. 16 GB internal storage, 32 GB microSD card slot. => Decent to carry good number of books, music and video. 5. Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 with support for 3G dongles, USB 2.0 OTG, Bluetooth. => Again good set of features. Support for bluetooth will be useful for those who dont want to carry wired devices. (although a lot of tablets claim support for 3G dongle and bluetooth, it may often require some tweaking around to get them to work) 6. 2 megapixel rear and 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera. => 0.3mp is very low. Even with a 2mp front-facing camera on a cheap tablet the quality is pathetic. I wonder how a 0.3mp will fare. 7. HDMI-Out supporting v 1.4 and 3D along with 2160p HD output, 3.5 mm stereo jack, G-Sensor. Supported video formats: AVI, RM, RMVB, PMP, FLV, Mp4, M4V, VOB, WMV, 3GP, MKV, MOV, MPEG, MPG. Supported audio formats: MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A, MP2, MA4. => Standard among tablets. Nothing new here. 8. 8000 mAh Li-ion battery supporting 10 hours music or 6 hours browsing. => This definitely is a very good feature. It means long hours of music and browsing without frequent recharges. Happy about this. 9. 9.4" (l) x 7.3" (w) x 0.4" (9.8 mm) (d), 643 grammes. Package contents: Power adapter, earphones, USB cable, OTG cable, user guide, warranty card. => I am really not sure about the "warranty card". I visited the website of "Winket" and noted that there is no proper website. All they have is 12MB "Data-sheet.zip" with a TwO-page PDF about this tablet. They are selling the devices via ebay.in. So, I am not very confident about the warranty card aspect. Possibly, they will help via email communication, etc. The data-sheet for the tablet mentions support for Flash 10.3 and not Flash 11 as mentioned in this review. Compared to Wishtel IRA's, this tablet has an IPS display, which is a big positive. Secondly, the battery is a huge positive on the Winket's ultimate tablet (8000mAh vs 5500mAh). Thirdly, this tablet has 16GB internal memory compared to the Wishtel IRA's 8GB. However, as pointed out, these three features are not worth the extra Rs.5000 one has to shell out. The same is true when compared to Micromax funbook Pro. More important than the hungama app, 1 free movie and few audio/video songs and the price, is the community support. I wonder if there will be any such support for this tablet. If this tablet is a Chinese tablet rebranged as Ultimate-TWY300, it will be very useful if the vendor gives out the name of the actual chinese tablet. We can at least search for custom ROMs community support :)

Low-cost tablets such as these are unlikely to get any software updates. Only a few major manufacturers bother to release new OS versions for their budget offerings. The rest are stuck with what they shipped with, or have to try and use custom firmware available on the web.
