Nokia Rolls Out Belle Refresh Update For N8, E7, C7, X7, And C6-01
Brings revamped music player, improved browser, and a new set of widgets.
While Nokia seems to be slowing down (or stopping altogether) when it comes to launching Symbian handsets, the company hasn't stopped releasing timely updates for its existing phones. In the latest round, the Finnish manufacturer has started rolling out the Belle Refresh update for the N8, E7, C7, X7, and C6-01.
The software update brings in a few performance and visual changes to the table. This includes an improved browser with better HTML5 support, a revamped music player, and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0. You also get a new bunch of homescreen widgets including the "photo wall", earlier seen on the Nokia 808 PureView.
To update your supported handset, dial *#0000#, then choose Check for updates. While the OTA (Over The Air) update is only 12 MB in size, using the Nokia PC Suite will require you to download a 350 MB ROM image. According to Nokia, the new update will also land on other Symbian devices such as the 500 and Nokia E6 "within the next few weeks". For more screenshots, check out the gallery below.
