Game4u Announces Freebies For Pre-Orders Of FIFA 13 And Resident Evil 6

Customized football-themed T-shirt for FIFA 13 bookings, while RE6 comes with Blu-ray disc of Resident Evil: Afterlife.

 

Game4u.com, one of India's top game retailers, is giving away merchandise with pre-orders of FIFA 13 and Resident Evil 6 (RE6). Gamers pre-ordering the former will receive a customised football T-shirt with the number 10 and their name on the back (you have to send an email to the retailer stating the name you want). However, the fact that it has no FIFA branding on it means that it's just a generic tee that Game4u is bundling with the booking. You could probably get a similar graphic off the web and use T-shirt transfer paper to do this yourself, or get it done at a nearby mall for a few hundred rupees. Apart from this giveaway, from the publisher's side, Electronic Arts has bundled three premium download packs with the pre-order, which will unlock new abilities, outfits, and players: Ultimate Team, Adidas All-Star Team, and EA Sports Football Club Credits. This offer is applicable to the PC, PS3, PSVita, PSP, and PS2 versions of the game, which will release on 28th September.

The RE6 offer has somewhat better value, since buyers of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will receive the Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D Blu-ray movie worth Rs 1300 at no extra cost. However, considering what a lemon that movie was, this is probably something that will appeal only to rabid Milla Jovovich \ Ali Larter fans. Moreover, while FIFA is a solid franchise that can safely be pre-ordered since football aficionados will mostly get their money's worth, the same can't be said for Resident Evil. After the disappointment of the previous RE title Operation Raccoon City, it might be prudent to actually wait till RE6 releases and see if Capcom has learnt from its mistakes. The game releases on 2nd October, so it's not too long a wait.
