Snapdeal.com Lists Samsung OMNIA M With Windows Phone 7.5 And 4" Screen For Rs 16,500
Available on deal website before the official launch, features a 1 GHz CPU, a measly 384 MB of RAM, 4 GB storage, and a 5 mp camera.
Snapdeal.com has listed Samsung's recent Windows Phone handset, the OMNIA M, for sale online. While the phone hasn't appeared on Samsung India's website as yet (you can view the translated Russian product page here), Snapdeal has offered it for immediate purchase (as opposed to a pre-order). Running Windows Phone 7.5 (Tango), the smartphone features a 4" WVGA Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 480x800. Measuring 4.8" (l) x 2.5" (w) x 0.4" (10.5 mm) (d), the device tips the scales at 119 grammes. Other features include:
- 1 GHz CPU, 384 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal storage.
- Quad-band GSM, dual-band 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, and DLNA connectivity.
- micro-USB 2.0 port and 3.5 mm audio jack.
- 5 mp main camera with auto-focus, LED flash, and video recording @ 30 fps, VGA front camera.
- Supported video formats: MP4, WMV, H.264, H.263.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR-NB.
- GPS with A-GPS, accelerometer, digital compass, light sensor, presence detector.
- 1500 mAh battery with talk time of 12 hours (2G) \ 8 hours (3G).
- Apps include Family Story (social app), the Ch@tON messaging service, Now (news and weather), RSS Times (feed reader), and Photo Studio (photo manipulation).
Priced at Rs 16,500, the spec sheet is unimpressive, to say the least. At this price, you're better off with the other decent WP offering from the brand, the Samsung OMNIA W, which boasts of a 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, and 8 GB of internal storage, all for the street price of Rs 15,000 (as of this writing). Alternatively, the Nokia Lumia 710 is another good option, currently available for Rs 15,000 as well.
On the whole, there isn't too much of a difference between these handsets, and the price difference tilts the balance against the OMNIA W. Check out the gallery below for several hi-res images of the product.
