Angry Birds Trilogy Will Come To PS3, Xbox 360, And Nintendo 3DS By Year-End
Package will include the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio; will support motion control as well.
The idea of the mega-popular Angry Birds making its debut on mainstream gaming consoles has been making the rounds for a while now. At E3 2012, Activation Activision had confirmed that an official announcement to this effect would be made soon. Now, reports suggest that console users will be able to enjoy the Angry Birds Trilogy, recreated especially for HDTVs, during the US holiday season this year-end. Rovio's Executive Vice President of Games, Petri Järvilehto, has said that users can expect new cinematics, including animated and responsive backgrounds, apart from "entertaining content" (whatever that means).
The new game will comprise of the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio on a single PS3 \ X360 disc or Nintendo 3DS cartridge. The collection is also said to feature support for the Microsoft Kinect, PlayStation Move, and StreetPass on the 3DS. Considering that the series is basically meant for touch devices, a PS Vita-based game would have been a welcome addition as well. Then again, perhaps Rovio isn't too impressed by the Vita's sales figures.
All said and done, there's no word yet about the most important fact — the cost. They had better not charge a full console game's price of Rs 2500+ for what is essentially a graphically-upgraded version of a smartphone game. Something in the range of Rs 500 - Rs 1000 would be reasonable, I think. What in your opinion is an ideal price for this trilogy? Let us know in the comments.
