Zync Z999 Plus Tablet With 7" Screen And Android 4.0 Launched For Rs 12,000
Upgraded version of Zync Z999 comes with a lower price tag; features 2 mp rear and 0.3 mp front camera, 3G support.
Zync Global has launched a new Android-based tablet PC for the Indian market, named the Zync Z999 Plus. Priced at Rs 12,000, the new 3G-enabled tablet features 512 MB of DDR3 RAM, with a 1.5 GHz Cortex A8 processor and Mali 400 GPU running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The 7" display contains a capacitive, multi-touch screen with pixel dimensions of 800x480.
Other features include the following:
- 2 mp autofocus rear camera and VGA (0.3 mp) front camera.
- 8 GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 32 GB via a microSD card.
- Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP
- Wi-Fi, EDGE, and 3G support via a GSM SIM slot.
- A USB v2.0 port is present, but it has not been specified what that is for.
- Accelerometer, stereo speaker, built-in mic.
- Video Formats \ Codecs: AVI, MKV, WMV, MOV, MP4, DAT (VCD), VOB (DVD), PMP, MPEG, MPG, FLV, ASF, TS, TP, 3GP, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD.
- Audio Formats: MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, AAC, AC3, WAV.
- Flash support in browser.
- Accessories Included: sleeve pouch, screen guard, earphones, USB cable, charger.
Finally, the 4200 mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery is expected to provide enough juice to run the tablet for four to five hours — provided it doesn't explode first, knowing how unpredictable cheap Chinese Li-Po batteries can be. Also, the battery capacity seems to be on the higher side, so it might well be a case of incorrect specifications, like the NXG Xtab A10. In any case, we've called for a review unit, so the answers will be clear in a few days. Keep your eyes peeled on the homepage.
