Lets you play videos across several formats on devices featuring ARMv7 CPUs;, however, the app may not be stable.
If you're looking for a multimedia player that can run a variety of file formats on your Android smartphone, VLC's official app is now available on Google Play. The Android variant of the mega-popular desktop application is currently in the beta version, which isn't stable and has been described by the developer as being "slower than the final version". Moreover, it is meant only for devices powered by the ARMv7 CPU. Support for other chipsets will be added soon.
Like the desktop version, this app supports network streams, apart from playing local video and audio files. It also supports multi-track audio and subtitles. The app comes with features such as auto-rotation, aspect-ratio adjustments, and gestures to control volume, in addition to a widget for audio control.
