Here are 12 Android Apps that are stealing your personal banking information
These apps are part of four malware families - Anatsa, Alien, Hydra, and Ermac— which steal both online banking passwords and two-factor authentication codes.
The 12 malicious Android apps are as follows: Gym and Fitness Trainer, PDF Document Scanner Free, PDF Document Scanner, QR Scanner, QR Scanner 2021, QR CreatorScanner, Two Factor Authenticator, Master Scanner Live, Protection Guard, and CryptoTracker.
All these apps are in Google Play Store and have been downloaded at least 300,000 times according to researchers at ThreatFabric.
Cybersecurity experts pointed out that these 12 apps only distribute malware through third-party sources after being downloaded from Google Play Store.
The malware even steals what you type on your phone and also takes screenshots of what you are doing on your phone.
All these apps also have positive reviews on Google Play Store, which makes them look legitimate even though they are not.
