Tweets Can Now Contain Videos And Article Excerpts
After YouTube and Instagram, will now also allow multimedia content from WSJ, TIME, and others.
Microblogging service Twitter has expanded its services so that tweets can now include videos and article excerpts. Tweets on twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com can now feature links to partner websites, which can be expanded to view content previews, images, videos, and more. Tweets with YouTube videos and Instagram photos were already available, but this feature will allow partner websites such as The Wall Street Journal, Breaking News, and TIME to deliver rich content through tweets containing links to these websites.
The preview can contain the headline, introduction, and even Twitter accounts of the publisher and writer. Users can read the article, follow these accounts, reply, mark favourite, or even retweet the content. This new feature will soon be made available for Twitter on the iPhone and Android platforms.
