Twitter Offers "Tailored Trends" - Topics Relevant To Your Location And Friends

Asks you to enable feature that will show trending topics based the people you follow and where you live.

 

Twitter has announced that it will now offer "Tailored Trends" to all its users. Twitter users already had access to trending topics and hashtags on their feeds, however these are usually worldwide or region-wide trends. With this new development, the microblogging site also takes into consideration the people that you are following and your current location to present relevant trending topics.

You can change these settings if you find it irrelevant. The microblogging site allows you to switch over to region-based or worldwide trends as well. The new option seems quite sketchy for now, as the trends it came up with didn’t really add to my knowledge in anyway, so I opted out of the new feature. However, Twitter has promised to tweak its algorithms to make it better with time. For now though, we just need to wait and watch how it trends by itself.
