Samsung Launches Galaxy M20 For Rs 10,990
The latest budget phone will take on Xiaomi's Redmi line-up.
Samsung has launched its latest M-series smartphones in India. These are the first smartphones from Samsung to boast waterdrop notch screen which Samsung proudly markets as 'Infinity-V' display. Prices start at Rs. 10,990 for the 3 GB RAM/ 32 GB storage variant while the top of the line 4 GB RAM / 64 GB storage variant costs Rs. 12,990. The new ‘M-series’ takes on the likes of Xiaomi, Honor and Asus. Thus, Samsung's Galaxy M20 will be an online exclusive device and will be available on Amazon India from February 5.
Let’s dive into what this new mid-range handset for Samsung has to offer. The Samsung Galaxy M20 is built of a polycarbonate body with acrylic back which makes it look like glass. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back along with the vertically mounted dual rear cameras. At the front it sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display has an Infinity-V notch at the top of the display and a fairly slim bottom chin bezel for the price. The device is powered by Samsung’s latest home-grown octa-core Exynos 7904 SoC (System on Chip) built on the 14nm process.
On the photography front, it comes equipped with dual cameras at the rear comprising of the 13-megapixel f/1.9 aperture camera sensor coupled with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The Infinity-V notch carries the 8-megapixel f/2.0 selfie snapper.
Audiophiles would be pleased as this one gets a 3.5mm audio jack. Special mention required for the Widevine L1 certification it carries which enables to stream HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Other features include Dual 4G VoLTE support, microSD card support up to 512 GB, Bluetooth v5, FM Radio, GPS+ GLONASS. The device runs on Samsung Experience version 9.5 UI on top of Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box. Samsung has thrown in as many features it could for the price and to back it up it has crammed in a massive 5000 mAh battery. The Type-C USB port can be used to charge the device with the 15W supplied fast charger.
