Samsung's ChatON App Makes Its Way To Windows Phone

Cross-platform application was previously released for Android and iOS devices, in addition to Samsung handsets.

Samsung's cross-platform IM app, ChatON is now available for Windows Phones. Being already available on Samsung phones as well as on all major mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, and BlackBerry, the app has finally made its way to WP7. The app basically works like any other cross platform chat client and is very popular with Samsung users, though not as much as Whatsapp.

The interface has been kept minimalistic with easy to use features. First time users have to register their number and get verified in a way similar to Whatsapp, and it's pretty smooth beyond that. You will have trouble finding your buddies on ChatON, though, as most mobile users today prefer Whatsapp. The app is bundled with neat features such as group chat, animated messages, media sharing, and interaction rank.

The Windows Phone version of Whatsapp isn't the best out there, so ChatON could be a good alternative. The only obstacle for users as we mentioned above will be low numbers, which may make it difficult to find your buddies on this IM client.

What's strange though, is that the app isn't listed in the web version of the Windows Marketplace. You can, however, head over to the Marketplace app on your Windows Phone and download the app.
