LG Silently Unveils Q8; Looks Like A Smaller V20
The flagship device comes with a secondary screen, dual rear camera, and waterproofing.
LG has finally made the much expected Q8 smartphone official, and it looks like the device is nothing but a mini version of the V20 that was launched last year; the plus point being its IP67 certification. This means that the device is now waterproof.
While the Q8 doesn’t come with a widescreen as we saw in the Q6, it does come with a 5.2 inch QHD display panel. The LG Q8, actually being a flagship device by the Korean company, comes with a metal body, quad core Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It also comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
However, these specifications may not be as attractive as the ones found on the LG G6 flagship smartphone. But, the LG Q8’s secondary display seems to be the cherry on the cake. While the main display screen is a Quantum IPS one protected by Gorilla Glass 4, the secondary display comes with a resolution of 160 x 1,040 px which is the same as the one found on the V20.
Having said this, the smartphone’s another highlight is its dual rear camera module which comes with one 13 MP sensor and another 8 MP sensor. The camera feature optical image stabilisation and is capable of capturing videos at 4K resolution. And, as far as the selfie camera is concerned, it is a 5 MP sensor with a wide lens.
While we have come across the silent launch of the LG Q8 smartphone, the big question that raises in our minds is — What is the price tag of the device? Well, while we have no accurate information on the same, we suggest you to wait until the company makes an official announcement.
