Sharp Launches X1 Android One Phone For Price Equal To A Flagship

For the price tag it carries, the mid-range specs somehow doesn’t attract us to the fullest.

 

Japanese electronics company Sharp has today launched its second smartphone under the Android One scheme, dubbed as the X1, in Japan for JPY 70,524 which roughly translates to Rs 40,500.

Looking at the price tag, we can clearly see that this smartphone doesn’t quite sync up with other Android One phones out there in the market, as it is way costly and still, offers mid-range specifications. However, it is said that Google has announced around 18 months of guaranteed Android updates for the smartphone.

Technically speaking, the Sharp X1 comes with a 5.3 inch FHD IGZO LCD display screen while being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor paired with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM. It is also dust and water resistant and packs a 3,900 mAh battery which is claimed to last for over 4 days with a single charge.

The Sharp X1 also comes with a fingerprint scanner, 16.4 MP rear camera, 8 MP front facing camera, USB Type C port, and Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. To recall, this new smartphone follows the Sharp Aquas 507SH that was launched last year in Japan.
