Facebook Messenger To Soon Get An AI-Powered Assistant

The assistant gives suggestions somewhat similar to sending stickers, sharing location, sending money, etc.

It looks like artificial intelligence-based assistants are trending nowadays, with more chances of becoming the next big thing in the technology industry this year. While we are seeing smartphone companies bring out out their own versions of AI-based assistant, messaging apps are lining up in the list as well.

Facebook has recently announced that users on Android and iOS Messenger app will soon be getting suggestions from a virtual assistant called, the M. It is being said that this new AI-powered assistant by Facebook will be giving useful suggestions based on the conversations two people are having; somewhat similar to sending stickers, sharing location, sending money, etc.

Of course, pretty much like every company over there in the market, Facebook also claims that the more a person uses M, the smarter it gets, and interestingly, it is being said that if the suggestions given by ‘M’ are ignored regularly, it would stop giving them.

Speaking about ‘M’, it is worth noting that Facebook unveiled the virtual assistant back in 2015 itself, and in-fact it was in testing mode until now, though with just a small percentage of users. However, more and more users in the US can embrace the new virtual assistant by Facebook. Sadly, there is no further information on the global availability of the same AI-powered assistant.
