Nova Launcher Gets Dynamic Badge In 5.1 Beta Version
This new feature focuses on who sent a message rather than how many unread messages you have.
Nova has recently announced a new beta version of the Android Launcher with version numbered 5.1, which it claims to fulfil requests done by many users in the past.
The Nova Launcher 5.1 beta brings with it a new feature that has been more requested for, known as ‘Dynamic Badges’. What this actually means is, while you can usually the count of how many messages you might have received in the messaging app, this feature would instead concentrate on who actually sent them.
In the sense, Dynamic Badges display contact images from messaging apps, album art from music apps, and app icons from the Play Store, and show them as badges on folder icons.
While the regular old-style numeric counts are still available on Nova Launcher, users can actually try this new feature as well by going to Settings > Notification Badges > Badge Type > Dynamic.
