Paytm Suspends 2 Percent Charge On Credit Card Recharges
While adding money to wallet by credit card, the company will likely introduce new features to prevent the misuse.
Paytm had recently introduced 2 per cent charge on customers who recharge their Paytm accounts using credit cards, which according to its claim was to actually prevent misuse by some customers.
The company has today mentioned on a blog post that the 2 per cent charge on credit cards caused inconvenience to a large segment of users, including those who are using their credit card for genuine transactions.
Also, the company has added in the blog post that it would be introducing new features to prevent the misuse of credit cards while adding money.
Apparently, a few days ago Paytm noticed the misuse where some users had refilled their wallet by getting free credit and then, transfer the money to their bank accounts.
Well, the company posted in an older post, “Some financially savvy users (unsurprisingly, many of them were employees of national financial institutions) exploited this model to rotate money. This may surprise normal users like most of us but for a savvy user it meant freebies at Paytm’s cost.”
