Google May Showcase Android O At Google I/O 2017
Android O may bring a couple of new feature that make it catch up with iOS.
Android 7 Nougat is already in the market with a very few number of smartphones running on it, and it wouldn’t be anything new if we tell that the tech giant has already started working on the latest version of Android.
Well, in-fact, GSMArena has recently published a post stating that a source informed VentureBeat that a couple of features that we may see in Android O would be showcased soon, at the Google’s I/O taking place from May 17 through 19 at the Shoreline Amphitheater.
According to the actual VentureBeat post, Google may unveil the Android O at the developer conference and then release it in the fall following multiple developer previews.
The post mentions that Google may bring a feature called as ‘Copy Less’ which actually would be predicting what you want to send to your friend and instantly copying the text from one app and pasting it to another, for instant, on to a chat app. However, it still unclear whether the feature would be seen on Google’s Gboard app or on Android keyboard itself.
Additionally, the Android O may bring in smart links for the text which will automatically link respective apps to relevant information. For instance, if the text is having a phone number, it would open the dealer, and if you have addresses, you can tap it to open up Maps application.
Another feature was mentioned, which the source claims to be least likely to make it on Android O final version. This feature is expected to be similar to Huawei’s Knock Gestures feature. For example, if you draw a ‘C’ on any screen, you would automatically open Calendar.
While we may expect Google to actually unveil Android O during the developer conference, we believe it still is quite early to actually discuss more about it. However, before bringing on a new Android variant, we are sure most of us out there are waiting to actually get hands on the Nougat yet!
