App Prices On Apple App Store To Increase Soon
It is being said that the Cupertino giant will be charging Rs 80 for every dollar.
Apple seems to be all set to increase the price tags of apps found on the App Store in select countries, including India. In-fact, several wide reports claim that India may witness the highest rise in app prices.
This price hike is mainly expected to be a result of change in exchange rates and taxation policies, claims a report published on Gadgets360, while adding that in-app purchases will also be affected by this move. However, as of now, the Cupertino giant has not confirmed about this new pricing.
Adding further, UK and Turkey are also going to witness some of the highest prices of the App Store apps, claims a post published on BBC, also quoting that an app of $0.99 will be around 99p in the UK. This means that, the cost will now numerically match between US and UK. In India, it would cost around Rs 80 instead of the earlier price of Rs 60.
Adding on this, Apple has announced that collection of the taxes from customers and remitting them to the appropriate tax authority will be administered, and thus, along with the drop in the value of India rupee, App buyers will have to pay around 33 per cent more for app found on App Stores in India.
It is worth noting that, 9to5Mac, which was the first to report about the price hikes, has mentioned that the price change will likely reflect in a maximum of next seven days, on both iOS App Store and Mac App Store.
