Apple iPhone 8 May Feature Samsung’s Curved OLED Display

While a few other reports state that there is a scarcity in the availability of OLED panels, you may not even witness the OLED variant of the iPhone 8.

Apple fans are definitely excited to see what the Cupertino giant will offer with the 2018 iPhone, also known as iPhone 8, marking the tenth anniversary of iPhones. In-fact, rumours and speculations have already started popping out of nowhere, and today we have the latest of such rumours.

The iPhone 8 as we know may be released in three variants, and all of them with OLED display would actually sport a curved display from Samsung, according to a recent report published on The Korea Herald.

Adding further, BGR has quoted an anonymous source which is said to be familiar with the matter, telling The Korea Herald that, Apple has ordered only plastic OLED and not glass, and Samsung is capable of supplying a little less than 100 million units of curved OLED displays to Apple.

To add more emphasis on this, the plastic OLED display panel is the same that has been used for devices like Galaxy S7 Edge.

Having said this, it has been rumoured for a while now that, while one variant would actually feature an OLED display, other two variants may sport flat LCD displays from companies like LG Display and JDI.
