Google Announces Play Store's 'Best of 2016'
The list clearly showcases the love given to actor Salman Khan and game Pokemon Go.
As we head towards the end of year 2016, Google has today sent out a release announcing the best of its most popular apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, and books in 2016.
According to the release, The Force and Harry Potter were no match for a different kind of superhero as Deadpool and “Deadpool Kills the Universe” dominated the movie and book charts this year. Game of Thrones kept The Walking Dead away to once again claim the Iron Throne as the most popular TV show of 2016.
Apparently, the report reveals some interesting statistics about Indian users as well, and guess what - Indians seem to have showered their love to Bollywood Actor Salman Khan, by downloading ‘Sultan: The Game’ a lot. In-fact, the game tops the second rank in ‘Top Trending Games of 2016’ by Google, while Indians seem to have downloaded the game Train Simulator 2016 the most.
However, Google has also listed Sultan in the second place in the ‘Top 5 Movies of 2016’ list. The Jungle Book comes at 3rd position in the same list, while The Martian seems to be the most popular movie among Indians.
The report also showcases that Indians are more inclined towards selfies and enhancing their pics using BeautyPlusMe - Perfect Camera app, which is the most trending app in India this year. Interestingly, the recently launched Google Duo has also managed to enter the top 5 list, along with Mr Voonik, e-commerce portal for men.
Coming to a global scenario, Google has reported that Pokemon Go has been the most trending games of 2016, while Clash Royale and Traffic Rider stack up at 2nd and 3rd position. Google has also listed Face Changer 2 as the most trending app globally in 2016, while Lumyer and Castbox follow it in 2nd and 3rd positions.
