Yahoo Introduces Two New Bots: Monkeypet And Popchat

Popchat is perfect for trivia lovers, while Monkeypet helps in weather, news, travel, and many other day-to-day tasks.

 

Yahoo has recently announced the roll out of few of its bots which are fun-loving, as claimed by Sanford Moskowitz, in an official Yahoo blog post. Dubbed as Popchat and Monkeypet, both these new bots are available on Kik. Additionally, Monkeypet is also available on Messenger.

Monkeypet is hitting the road, ocean and skies in search of travel adventures. It can now report on weather and news from around the world, as well as search the web for whatever content you’re interested in finding, according to the recent blog post. Monkeypet has also learned to retrieve images, GIFs, and videos so you can have rich conversations with your friends. Say or type “skills” to check out these and our digital monkey’s other new talents, Sanford adds further.

On the other hand, Popchat is a bot that brings the mood of trivia while chatting among friends. This is in-fact perfect for trivia lovers to play with old friends and make new friends who share your trivia interests. Pick from a variety of categories – including music, TV and movies, crazy facts and more – then game on. You can chat during games to keep the competition exciting or challenge yourself in a single player game, all within Kik. 

With the roll-out of these two new bots by Yahoo, the company is simply trying to showcase its presence in the more future-centric world, where bots are expected to take over every potential task.
