Apple is offering free battery replacements through its service centres. The Cupertino-based company has rolled out a battery replacement programme for a "very small number of iPhone 6s devices" that may unexpectedly shut down. In the official statement, the Cupertino company has mentioned that there . The affected devices falls in a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015. If you own an iPhone 6s and it has been randomly shutting itself off, you better visit an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
You can also use the online tool to check your device's eligibility for a free battery replacement. If you have recently paid to get this problem from Apple service centre, you should contact Apple for a refund. According to the guidelines, if your iPhone 6s has any damage such as a cracked screen which impairs the replacement of the battery, that issue needs to be fixed prior to the battery replacement.
This year is turning out to be a year of smartphone battery recalls. First, it was Samsung that had to stop selling its latest flagship Note 7 due to a critical battery issue. Now before the year end, Apple has acknowledged battery anomaly in some of its iPhone 6s. However, Apple's battery episode is nowhere as disastrous as that of Samsung.
