With Apple keeping a close watch on the wearables, it is possible that Apple Watch 2 will be out alongside iPhone 7, slated to be unveiled on September 7. From what Times of India reports, the Apple Watch 2 will have the same 42mm and 38mm options like the earlier edition of the Apple Watch, alongside the GPS based radio functionality, but certainly a better battery life, with 334 mAh capacity, which is 35% more than the previous 246mAh battery used earlier.

Though none of the details have officially been confirmed, like many of Apple's previous products, but reports suggest that the physical dimensions may be similar to the previous edition, as Apple may not take up any new radical leaps forward in product design, till the year 2018, if the words of KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo are to be taken into account. However, the improvements in the new device will be more utility based, and on the inside, including the use of WatchOS 3.0 with cellular connectivity, faster TSMC processor, better waterproofing, specialized activity tracking, other than GPS radio and barometer.

Apple Watch 2 is also said to feature One Glass Solution (OGS)-based display, instead of one with Glass on Glass technology. DigiTimes, citing information from TPK Holdings, an Apple supplier, recently said that OGS technology eliminates the glass layers used in the Glass on Glass technology, making the screen slightly thinner. Not only will this make the rumored Apple Watch 2 thinner, but also lighter.
