Twitter Deactivates 360,000 Accounts For Promotion Of Terrorism
The micro-blogging platform is expanding its team to review reports around the clock, and collaborating with other social platforms for identifying terrorist content.

Twitter has recently announced via its blog post that, nearly 360,000 accounts have been suspended for threatening or promoting terrorism since mid-2015. This also includes the suspension of more than 125,000 Twitter accounts as it was announced by the micro-blogging platform, earlier this year.
"Since then, the world has witnessed a further wave of deadly, abhorrent terror attacks across the globe. We strongly condemn these acts and remain committed to eliminating the promotion of violence or terrorism on our platform" the blog post said.
Twitter also said, “Daily suspensions are up over 80 per cent since last year, with spikes in suspensions immediately following terrorist attacks.” The blog post even adds that, Twitter has expanded teams that review reports around the clock, along with their tools and language capabilities.
In order to make sure that the micro-blogging platform would be a safe place for everyone while not promoting terror attacks, Twitter seems to have been collaborating with other social platforms, sharing information and best practices for identifying terrorist content.
According to the recent blog post, "The Blog post revealed that “other companies and experts have also noted, there is no one “magic algorithm” for identifying terrorist content on the Internet. But we continue to utilize other forms of technology, like proprietary spam-fighting tools, to supplement reports from our users and help identify repeat account abuse."
