28th Aug 2015Apple’s yearly iPhone launch event has been scheduled for the 9th of September. The media has been invited, and everyone around the world, including 75 million Windows 10 users will be watching it live. But there is no clear idea about what products the company will choose to launch apart from the iPhone 6s.
However, there is a lot of speculation around the launch of the a smaller iPhone 6c. One that keeps getting shot down all the time, but somehow manages to rise up. And this itself kind of proves that something is cooking indeed.
iPhone 6c
From the first rumours, to the recent one from Evan Blass (@evleaks) confirms the presence of an iPhone 6c. According to speculations, the device will sport a 4 inch display similar to the 5c.
What will be a bit different, is that the smartphone may sport a newer processor. But one that is not as powerful as the newer iPhone 6 or the brand new 6s.
Plastic is also something that you will not find on the iPhone 6c. If Apple has learnt from its mistakes, it knows that its customers do not like the idea of an expensive plastic iPhone (even though Cupertino may call it affordable). Expect a metal chassis and a slightly larger battery that may be on par with the iPhone 6.
iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6 Plus
Oh where do we begin? Well, you could head here to read about our extensive list of speculations on the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus. This would include everything from the new A9 processor, to 2GB of RAM, to Force Touch, but you will also need to add 4K video recording to that list.
Yes, recent rumours claim that the new camera will be a 13 MP one with 12 MP available to keep the rest reserved for digital stabilisation. Yes, that brand new A9 chipset also packs in a new ISP that will be able to handle the new iPhone’s 4K video recording.
More impressive, is the rumoured news about the iPhone’s front-facing 5 MP unit. This one is said to feature slow-motion selfies at 720p resolution and better quality video chops thanks the higher resolution sensor.
iPad Pro
Indeed, worldwide tablet sales have been dropping and the iPad is one of those victims as well. What has not been seeing signs of a stall are 2-in-1s. So it makes sense (and even more sense with iOS 9 on board) that Apple will introduce an iPad with a keyboard.
It has been speculated for long that Apple is working on a 12 inch iPad tablet, that will be called the Pro.
Where the Pro comes in, you will also need a stylus and so far there have been murmurs about a stylus with Force Touch.
Force Touch would indeed change things for the iPad making it a more serious tool for artists and the creative types. Imagine feeling the friction of paper or a canvas while writing or drawing something on an iPad. Sound pretty good doesn’t it?
But there’s more. The new 12 inch iPad may also feature a USB C connector and the expected keyboard for those who want to get some work done. One that is beginning to make an appearance on not just Apple, but Google products as well. More over Google is expected to bring its Nexus line-up with USB C, similar to the one on the OnePlus 2.
Lastly, the event will also see the roll out of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 9. Clearly, after that we will see many iDevice owners venting out on Apple’s forums about those bugs.
As of now the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus have been confirmed to go up on sale from the 18th of September, with pre-orders in the US beginning from the 11th.
