The Nexus 5 is industry's worst kept secret. Multiple sources lead to contradictory reports, which makes it difficult to tell the sensible information from hoax. That's exactly the reason why we've compiled the list of features you can expect from the Nexus 4's successor. Check out what's in stores for Android fans longing for a "pure" experience.

What we know for a fact:
- The handset will be manufactured by LG.
- It's going to be the launch vehicle for the next version of Android 4.4 KitKat.
- Google will launch it on 28th of October 2013.

Now, let's have a look at some other key aspects of the Nexus 5 that are wildly speculated.

Display
One of the reasons behind the Nexus 4's success was its relatively compact 4.7" HD screen. However, according AndroidPolice.com, LG will go with a 5" full-HD display in the next iteration of Nexus. Similar to the predecessor, the Nexus 5 will sport an IPS screen, which provides broad viewing angles.

Raw Power
Much like the LG Optimus G2 and Xperia Z1, the Nexus 5 will pack in a Snapdragon 800 SoC. We expect this quad-core chipset to be clocked at 2.2 GHz. This should be more than enough to handle all the latest games and apps. For heavy multitasking, there will be 2 GB of RAM, similar to the Nexus 4.

Design
Don't believe the images posted by Chinese media? How about a (planned) slip-up from Google itself? Yes, you heard it right, the Nexus 5's press image was spotted on Google's Play Store for a brief time. We've embedded that picture below, and as you can see, there's an LG logo on the back. You can also get a glimpse of the new Android Kitkat on the screen. Design-wise, it doesn't seem like a revolutionary upgrade. But, it's at least an improvement over the Nexus 4's fragile glass back-panel.



Camera
The camera is unlikely to see a major upgrade. Similar to the predecessor, the pixel count will remain at 8 megapixel. However, you can expect better low-light performance with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). We were actually hoping for a 13 megapixel sensor, given that most of the recent high-end devices from LG have a 13 MP camera.

Storage
The Nexus 5 will come in 16 and 32 GB variants. Although many Android fans are hoping to see a microSD card slot, we think LG will give it a miss.

Battery
While most websites are placing bets on 3000 mAh battery. We would like to go with the Italian website tuttoandroid.net's prediction that the phone will pack in a 2300 mAh battery.
