Weave Stories With Instagram

Celebrate the service's third birthday with a new, fun account!

Weave Stories With Instagram

Instagram turns three on 6th October, and the photography-based social networking site boasts of quite a very staunch fan base. If you are trying to get more followers or just want to keep your Instagram enthusiasm alive, here are four takes of the kind of account you can build.

The Story Tellers
If you are an avid blogger or photography enthusiast, then this one seems the most obvious. You can use your Instagram account to weave out some interesting stories in pictures. For inspiration, there is a Russian photographer, Murad Osmann whose account, dubbed as 'Follow Me' is quite interesting. The account shows pictures of Osmann's girlfriend leading him by the hand, as they explore the world. Snapped with his DSLR and his smartphone, the photographer started his project way back in 2011, and it has quite a bustling fan base. Check out the account here. Another interesting collection you can check out is photographer Dan Marker-Moore's account called payphone, which he started way back in 2011.  For details, check out his payphoneography blog here.

Discover The Tales Of Lands Far-off
Photo blogs are an easy way to keep fun memories of your exciting travels. Showing off exotic locations with a twist, or finding those interesting nooks and corners in your own locality will make you a hero among buddies who wish you embark on a visual journey with you. You never know, you may just boost the local tourism in your hometown. National Geographic's account is one nice place to draw inspiration from. Another pro travel photographer you can turn to is Daniel Noll, who has been on the road since 2006. His account named uncornered_market is breathtaking. And yes a peek on his website reveals he started right in our backyard, India that is.

Indulge In Colours And Festive Feasts
Now this one is a raging hit on the service already and the fairer sex is often credited to clog this social network with food photographs. But there are a few lasses that add an extra oomph to the food they snap. Take for instance the work of celebrated food photographer Alice Gao, or food stylist Carrie Purcell, or even Angela Davis' The Kitchenista Diaries (who says she has a #FoodPorn fetish). For those with a masculinity complex, there is celeb-chef Jamie Oliver to make you proud.

Awaken The Child In You
I love toys, and I find toy photography to be very impressive, right from the time I discovered a now-defunct experimental blog called a Lego A Day. Instagram too has its share of toy photography enthusiasts. Check out Chris G's thebeansoldier, Superwhite (dedicated to Woody from Toy Story), or even the Virgin Spider. The games you play will get a different direction and a new meaning too!
