06th Apr 2017Search Engine Optimization is the technique that web publishers use to increase a page’s traffic and visibility in order to gain more readers. There are ways in which to write an SEO optimized content so that it serves its intended purpose. Technology changes very fast, so it’s always wise to keep up with the trends
Do your Keyword Research
Keyword research is critical. You need to research on the keywords people look up on the search engines. Focus on words that are four letters or more because they tend to have a higher search volume. Have a look at your competition and see what keywords they use, this way, you will be able to know which keywords are popularly searched. Do not confuse your readers though, with what is called Keyword stuffing, where you use the keyword too many times that it renders the content monotonous.
Generate SEO friendly Titles
Titles are a fundamental aspect of any content, and are a vital part of searches that are engine driven, and they basically tell the search engine what to look for, and where to place your content. Titles get cut on the SERP (Search Engine Result Page) if they are too lengthy. Use clear and concise, but powerful titles to optimize the engine search! Another trick is to use subtitles which contain keywords, but remember not to overuse them.
Go For Catchy Meta descriptions
A metadescription is a text used by a search engine to show the second and third lines of the search result, and it usually appears under the title. This short description will be what attracts the reader to read the rest of your content. The Meta description has to be catchy so as to generate more clicks or Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Write SEO friendly content
The content is the essence. Without it, then search engines have nothing to search for. Your content has to be well written and in a reader friendly tone and language that allows for easy reading. You need to put a lot of thought and care into what you write. In this day and age, for example even academic paper writing has become online based. Everyone relies on the internet for almost all their information, so ensure your work is top notch and straightforward- no unnecessary technical jargon. Use a quality but easy style, and also have content interesting enough to warrant a read.
Write Mobile Friendly Content
The mobile market is huge. Everyone has access to a smart phone and most people will search for information on the go on their mobile phone. According to the Forbes magazine, 99% of people who have smartphones use their phone web browser daily. Make sure your SEO content can be easily accessed via different platforms including the mobile phone. How do you do this? By ensuring that your website has Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) which is a strategy that ensures publishers are able to create content that loads instantly. Users get frustrated by slow loading pages and most often than not end up ditching the page for a faster one. Anyone with basic Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) skills can create this AMP. There are also hundreds of tutorials online that can guide you on how to accelerate page loading and gain more traffic.
