23rd Nov 2015It's official now that the Chinese smartphone company OnePlus will bring its much-talked about Ceramic variant of the OnePlus X on sale in India starting from Tuesday, Nov 23.
But, Rs 22,999 for the limited edition Ceramic variant? Why is it priced so heavily? What makes it special from the OnePlus X Onyx variant.
First and foremost, OnePlus is said to be bringing in just 10,000 units of the Ceramic variant which it-self is a unique point.
However, the key USP is that, the OnePlus X Ceramic variant comes with a unique back panel made from exquisite Zirconia which has been sourced from Australia.
Since manufacturing the back plates with Zirconia is quite difficult, it is worth noting that nearly 1 out of every 5 Ceramic OnePlus X back plates pass the quality check to be fitted on to the OnePlus X smartphone.
No wonder, the smartphone comes with a hefty price tag.
However, the rest of the features are quite similar to the OnePlus X Onyx variant.
While the Onyx variant weighs 138 grams, the Ceramic variant weighs around 160 grams which may disappoint many of the users.
In short, apart from the weight and the back plate, there seems to be nothing much impressive which would make the Ceramic variant different from the Onyx variant.
